Every now and then a lovesong, as anachronistic as it might seem, pushes its way through the great fog of criticism, cynicism and serenity of our days. The Greek – German duo SEA + AIR’s latest single, „You Are“ is such a track.

Having been a live favourite since the duo started in 2011 (with the TV Noir acoustic version getting over 100.000 You Tube clicks), the couple decided to record an orchestral version for their latest album „Evropi“.

The breathtaking arrangement playfully combines the grand dark, orchestral pop of Scott Walker or Jaques Brel with the traditional Eastern mediterranean byzantine vocal music. Creating a unique, dreamy, emotional, yet catchy track that fits into no genre but SEA + AIR’ s own „ghost pop“. It seems reckless at first but its ability to enlightening the internet and radio landscape of the year’ s colder months gives a perfect overview at the mood of the whole album. Showing what a big success a # 49 peak in the German album charts was.
